Stroll through its narrow streets to discover some religious buildings that belong to different Religions: Synagogue, Mosque, Cathedral,… That’s the proof of the coexistence of Jews, Christians and Muslims in the Middle Ages.

Only 10 kms away from Cordoba city, there are the ruins of a lavish and mysterious city-palace: Medina Azahara. Ordered to be build by the Caliph Ab-Al Rahman III and UNESCO site from 2018.

Gualdalquivir river and "Montilla-Moriles" wine

The north of the province is occupied by “Sierra Morena”, the mountain range that crosses the north of Andalusia from east to west. The southern part is the place for the Sub-Baetica, a mountain range that is extended to Sierra Nevada. Between these mountain ranges, the Guadalquivir river circulates throughout the countryside and divides Cordoba city into two parts.

In the southern part of the province of Cordoba, “Montilla-Moriles” wine is produced. Due to its geographical location, it is possible to grow different varieties of white grape.
